Arcrylic , string, thinning medium, thumbtacks

This began as an attempt to depict the change of political borders throughout history. I would paint a layer down, then cover it with another. It got to the extent where it could barely be told what was going on. From a glance, you could not notice this is a map of political borders throughout history. The pins represent various cities, connected by red string, uniting the world.
