IHuman was my first attempt at creating something like the Rot God, almost four years before the second version. The Rot God is a direct inspiration from this piece. When making Ihuman, I wanted to depict a physical manifestation of people’s reliance on technology. During the idea generation phase, I learned about Neuralink, and that gave me the idea of combining human flesh and technological implements. Ihuman had a higher focus on bodily horror, and less on religion. It was my reaction to what I saw in the world at the time, with social media and technology increasingly addicting my peers.
