Duel between a captain of the New Army and the Palatial Guard. This piece is from a neutral perspective in my book. I decided to portray it mainly through a difference in perspective to technology: one side openly uses it, while the other shuns it (which can be seen through weaponary). Another important element to this artwork is the focus on clothing and costume. There are many cultural identities in All Under Heaven, and with it differences in clothing, no matter how miniscule, the differences in the dress and appearance of characters can reveal cultural differences, and thus biases, appreciations, and disagreements.
